CAD Banking: What We Tested
All five casinos in our Canadian ranking accept CAD-denominated accounts with Interac deposits. We tested Interac e-Transfer deposits and withdrawals at each casino in April 2026. ZeSlots processed our CAD e-wallet withdrawal fastest at 17 hours. Interac-specific withdrawals at all casinos cleared in 1–3 business days.
Ontario Regulated Market
Ontario residents have access to the regulated iGaming Ontario market, which launched in April 2022. Players in Ontario should prioritise licensed operators to access stronger consumer protections, including regulated dispute resolution. The Ontario market had 50+ licensed operators as of early 2026.
Province-by-Province Overview
Online casino regulation varies by province. Ontario has a fully regulated private operator market. British Columbia has BCLC's PlayNow platform. Quebec has Espace-Jeux. In provinces without dedicated regulated platforms, players typically access international licensed operators. All five casinos in our ranking hold international licences (MGA or equivalent).
Best Bonus for Canadian Players
CasinoWinner offers the largest bonus percentage in our Canadian ranking at 300% with code WIN300. ZeSlots offers zero wagering on its 250% bonus (ZESLOTS250) — which delivers more real value for most players than a larger bonus with standard wagering requirements.
Interac e-Transfer: what actually happens
Interac is the rail almost every Canadian player reaches for, and it behaves differently in each direction. A deposit is effectively instant because the transfer is pushed from your bank and the casino credits on confirmation. A withdrawal is a different process: the casino has to approve it first, then send it, and the approval step is where the time goes.
That is why a casino can honestly advertise instant Interac deposits and still take three days to pay you. The two numbers describe different things. When we quote a withdrawal time, it is measured from the moment we clicked request to the moment the funds were in the account, approval included.
One practical detail that catches people out: some banks hold an incoming e-Transfer for a manual accept step, and a few place a short security hold on a first transfer from a new sender. If a payout is a few hours later than expected, check your bank's pending list before assuming the casino is at fault.
Are gambling winnings taxable in Canada?
For recreational players, generally no. Canada treats winnings from games of chance as a windfall rather than income, so a casual player does not declare them. The exception is the player who gambles as a business, with the consistency and system that implies, in which case the Canada Revenue Agency may treat the activity as taxable income.
Interest earned on winnings once they sit in an account is a different matter and is taxable in the normal way. This is general information rather than advice, and anyone whose play looks anything like a business should ask an accountant rather than a casino site.
Ontario and the rest of Canada are two different markets
Ontario runs its own regulated iGaming market, launched in April 2022, with licensed operators and a formal dispute route. If you live in Ontario, that route exists and is worth using, and it is a genuine reason to prefer a licensed operator there.
Outside Ontario the picture is different. Provincial lottery corporations run their own platforms, and international operators serve players from abroad. There is no national equivalent of the Ontario scheme, which means the checks you make yourself carry more weight: payout history, verification process and how support answers a hard question. That is exactly what we test.
What to check before your first deposit
- CAD account, not conversion. If the balance is held in another currency, the spread costs you on the way in and again on the way out.
- Interac for withdrawals, not just deposits. Confirm the method appears in the cashier's withdrawal list, not only the deposit list.
- Verification early. Complete it before you need a payout. Doing it after a withdrawal request is the most common reason a payout feels stuck.
- The bonus playthrough and the conversion cap. Both, not just the headline percentage.
- Deposit and loss limits. Set them at the cashier before your first session rather than after a bad one.
How we picked these casinos
Every casino in this ranking was funded with a real CAD account and tested with an Interac deposit and a withdrawal before it appeared here. The ranking weights payout speed and verification most heavily, then bonus terms, then library and live coverage, then mobile. A large game count does not move a casino up this list on its own.
We publish fewer operators than most Canadian comparison pages for a simple reason: we do not list a casino whose payout we have not put through ourselves.
